The OBARA Group's history goes back to the establishment of OBARA Metalworks, Ltd. in 1958. It ubsequently expanded its domestic market, primarily in the manufacture of resistance welding equipment, and by 1980 it had captured a high share of the market. In the late 1980's, it began actively constructing a global network by setting up overseas bases.
The OBARA Group is made up of several domestic and international related enterprises with two different means of communication: the resistance welding equipment department, for whom the automobile industry is a very important market; and the ultra-precision cleaning and surface-polishing equipment department, whose market is the IT industry, including semiconductor-related firms and the like.
